Marengo G Pre-emergent Granular Herbicide offers long-term residual control of both grassy and broadleaf weeds on ornamentals grown in production nurseries including those grown in-ground and in containers. Marengo G may also be used on conifers and Christmas trees. Marengo can be used in ornamental production sites and hardscapes and is labeled for use in shade houses and hoop houses in areas covered by landscape fabric, rock or under benches.
With the new active ingredient indaziflam, Marengo G offers long term control of many hard-to-control broadleaf weeds such as bittercress, groundsel, oxalis, marestail, and spurge. Marengo G also controls tough grassy weeds such as crabgrass, annual bluegrass, and annual sedge. Marengo G also demonstrates early post-emergence activity against some weeds, including annual bluegrass, crabgrass, and oxalis.
A granular formulation, Marengo G contains the first active ingredient from MOA (Mode of Action) Group 29. The active ingredient prevents weed seed germination by inhibiting cellulose biosynthesis. Marengo G does not move once applied to the soil and does not volatilize.
Marengo G Pre-emergent Granular Herbicide for Production Ornamentals
Use rates range from 100 to 200 pounds per acre. Research recommends 200 pounds per acre.
Marengo G should be applied to dry foliar or areas. Do not allow the granules to remain on leaves for extended periods For best results, users should activate Marengo G with a minimum of ¼ inch of water within 2 days of application.
Marengo G Pre-emergent Granular Herbicide for Non-Selective Uses
To maintain bare ground in non-crop areas, including gravel areas as well as rocky/sandy areas. Apply 200 to 400 pounds per acre with uniform coverage to target areas.
Marengo G Pre-emergent Granular Herbicide in Ornamental Production facilities
Used in production facilities such as areas covered by landscape fabric, hoop-houses, lathhouses and shadehouses to provide bare ground and general weed control beneath benches and potted plants. Make applications to these sites during clean up, sanitation and preparation prior to plant production. Apply 200 pounds per acre or 4.6 pounds per 1000 square feet target area.
